EHS Babayit

Expectations for Students

Grades K-3

  • Updates and assignments will be conveyed through email and Seesaw.
  • Teachers will be scanning pages for you to print at home. Please let us know if you will need help with printing. Once completed, we ask that parents scan the work and send it back to the teachers. There are many free apps for scanning work.
  • Students will have access to some new websites for reading, math, and writing skill building. These are new offerings from reputable companies that we have used in the past. More information will be forthcoming as we get students registered. Teachers will be able to assign tasks for these different programs.
  • Teachers will be offering virtual-live classes via Zoom. Teachers will notify you a day in advance so you can expect to join the class online. As our younger students do not have individual devices and student accounts, we are in the process of figuring out the best way to provide this learning for all. We are actively working on a solution.

Grades 4-7

  • Email will be the primary source of communication for assignments and invitations for live lessons with teachers.
  • Google Classroom is the online resource for students to find assignments,  materials, and teacher created videos for subjects.
  • Virtual-live classes will be conducted using Google Meet. Teachers will send an invitation link for students to access the learning. Below are the guidelines teachers sent to students regarding virtual live lessons.

EXPECTATIONS FOR PARENTS

Please know EHSBabayit is not homeschooling! As parents, you are not expected to teach your children, or even monitor everything your child is learning. It is reasonable to assume students will need more help in the first days, but we encourage you to promote independence as is age-appropriate. If your child is struggling with the work and the format after a few days, please reach out directly to the teachers to brainstorm and problem solve. You can help your child by providing an organized and quiet work space free from distraction, by sticking to routines for wake-up, meals, and bedtime, and by encouraging them to have their materials and assignments ready.
