Zachary Shwartz ’08 was a proud Hillel alumnus who served on the Board of Directors, chaired the Alumni Committee, and was the very first recipient of the Adam Madorsky Alumni Social Justice award in 2017. He was the true definition of a mensch and an inspiration to people of all ages. When Zach received this award, he told our students, “Find something you love to do and turn it around to give something back. Even the smallest kindnesses matter.”
Shortly before his death, Zach was volunteering on the EHS Tuition Task Force, a group of staff, parents, and alumni working together to make a Jewish Day School education affordable for all on the North Shore. This scholarship fund has been established in his memory to continue his work of making Hillel affordable and accessible to all.
